Who We Are

About

I’m Catherine Hill, a Canadian-born visual artist and singer-songwriter whose work is rooted in a lifelong connection to music.

After earning a degree in Art History and Visual Culture and Communication from the University of Toronto, I moved to San Francisco to study songwriting and later made my way to Nashville, where I became immersed in the city’s music community.

It was in Nashville that I returned seriously to visual art through the encouragement and mentorship of my friend, songwriter and painter Ray Stephenson. I began by creating monochromatic portraits of musicians and gradually developed a broader body of work inspired by the instruments, performances and stories that become part of an artist’s identity.

My work now includes expressive paintings of iconic instruments, concert photography, setlist pieces, portraiture and mixed-media artwork connected to meaningful moments in music.

As a songwriter, performer and lifelong music fan, I understand the emotional connection people form with a song, a guitar, a concert or a particular era in an artist’s career. My aim is to preserve that connection through artwork that feels personal, specific and lasting.

My work has been collected by music lovers internationally and featured throughout Nashville’s Hutton Hotel. I have also created work connected to artists and songwriters including Taj Mahal and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Kent Blazy.

Through Fine Art of Rock & Roll, I’m developing artist-approved collaborations, limited-edition releases and original artwork created in partnership with musicians and their teams.
